    Model & estimate

    Composite intervals, code lithology domains, model implicit RBF ore shells, fit variograms, and run IDW or Ordinary Kriging. Slope-of-regression classification produces Measured / Indicated / Inferred categories with confidence tercile analysis.

  4. Step 04

    Optimise & schedule

    Half a day

    Run Lerchs–Grossmann pit optimisation with slope zones by rock domain and revenue-factor sensitivity sweeps. Generate nested pushbacks and multi-period NPV-optimised production schedules with tornado sensitivity analysis.

What's actually running when you click "Estimate".

Four engineered components that make the whole workflow fast, auditable and reproducible.

Ordinary Kriging engine

Experimental + modelled variograms with nugget / sills / ranges. Search neighbourhoods, quadrant / octant restrictions. Cross-validation and QKNA panels built in.

GPU-accelerated 3D viewer

InstancedMesh rendering of 250 000 blocks at 60 FPS. Section clipping, frustum culling, custom shaders. Runs on any WebGL 2 GPU including Apple Silicon.

Lerchs–Grossmann solver

Bench-level max-flow LG solver scales to 500 000 blocks. Sensitivity sweeps across 12 revenue factors complete in under 20 minutes on a mid-range laptop.

Signed report pipeline

Deterministic DOCX / PDF / XLSX / PPTX generation. Cryptographically-signed SHA-256 hashes make every report bit-for-bit reproducible years later.

How do I import from Datamine / Vulcan / Micromine?

Export your block model, wireframes and drillhole database to CSV / GSLIB / DXF from your legacy tool. SMIN's data manager will map columns, reproject coordinates and validate integrity — no scripting required.

Can I run SMIN offline?

The 3D viewer and reporting UI work offline once a project has been synced. Compute-heavy workflows (kriging, LG optimisation) require a connection. Enterprise on-prem deployments run fully air-gapped.

How does SMIN handle very large block models?

Regularised block models up to 10 million cells are handled server-side. The 3D viewer streams 250,000+ blocks at 60 FPS with LOD switching for the rest. Enterprise deployments scale to 100M+ cells.
